Bell Field 4th Grade

Our Grading Scale is the 7 point scale:

A= 93%-100%

B=86%-92%

C=78%-85%

D=70%-77%

F=69% and below

Report Cards:

Reading and Math are given letter grades throughout the year (A, B, C, D, or F)

Social Studies and Science are given an O, S, or N for the first two quarters and letter grades for the last two quarters

Writing is given an O, S, or N all year.

Testing

Basic Reading Inventory (BRI)- given by the teacher in an individualized setting. Completed in September.

Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS)- November 3-6

Writing Assessment- end of January/beginning of February (we will also have 2 or 3 practice assessments prior to the state assessment)

Oral Presentation- TBA

Criterion Reference Tests (CRTs)-

Math- Part 1 in December, Part 2 in May
Language Arts- End of April/First of May
Science- Part 1 in January/February, Part 2 in May
Social Studies- May, map tests for continents, oceans, states, and captitals throughout the year

Test taking suggestions:

During the days/weeks of testing, please make sure look at these suggestions to help you complete your tests to the best of your ability.

Get a good night's sleep so you are well rested on the day of the test.
Eat a good, healthy breakfast so you don't get hungry during the test. A growling stomach can take your concentration away from the test.
Be to school on time so you don't miss any part of the test.
